Life wouldn’t have been great,
If it wouldn’t have been with them;
I wouldn’t have been here,
If not for my parents.
They bring out the best in me,
And they taught me the word “simplicity”;
I often wonder how some things never change,
And I know for a fact that their love is never feigned.
My father is an epitome of self belief,
And taught me to live with dignity;
I can only wish & hope for,
To be even half of what he is now.
My mother is a person with strong will & determination,
In adversity, she turned to be a kid with aspirations;
She taught me to be independent but loving & kind,
And there is nowhere else “selfless love” you can find.
If I live my life to the fullest,
It is because I have their love & support;
If I believe in myself,
It is because they didn’t teach me otherwise.
If one ever wants to talk about financial news & numbers,
Who else to go to but my brother;
He is an avid reader,
& always ready to discuss who is better.
My sister in law became my friend,
When she became a part of our family;
She is an embodiment of Today’s Women,
Full of life, laughter, enthusiasm, joy & fun.
How can I not mention in this list,
The person I have been living with for the past 3 years;
He is my beloved husband,
With whom I share the happiness & sorrows & would continue doing so even in years to come.
My family also consists of my in laws,
And feel lucky they consider me as their daughter;
I can only pray for,
That in years to come, relationships become only more stronger.
This poem is a tribute to my family,
Who have stuck to me through thick & thin;
I only wish & pray for their good health & happiness,
Because I know they don’t deserve anything else than this.
For all you bloggers who believe in their families,
This is a tribute to you as well;
As what could be more gratifying,
Than a family more loving & caring.
Never lose out on the opportunity,
To make your loved ones feel important;
As we are here,
Because of their wishes & prayers.
